Originally known as "Rua dos Imigrantes", Rua José Paulino is located in the Bom Retiro district.

At the beginning of the 20th century the Bom Retiro was an essentially working-class neighborhood and was home to mainly Italian immigrants.

Commercial activities concentrated on Rua José Paulino were not carried out by Italians but by Portuguese, Turkish, Syrian and Lebanese immigrants.

From the decade of 1920 began to settle in the district diverse Jewish immigrants being that this flow intensified during the period of World War II. The Jews began to shape the current vocation of the neighborhood by dedicating themselves to the textile (confection and commerce).

From the late 1960s began the arrival of South Korean immigrants who began to buy the main stores in the neighborhood. This movement intensified in the 1980s in great pause thanks to a 1982 law that amnesties illegal immigrants.

Nowadays the commerce of the Rua José Paulino and surroundings is dominated by the Koreans who accompany in their stores the trends and news of the world of fashion.

You may even think that Bom Retiro, which is almost exclusively dedicated to the world of fashion and clothing, has nothing to do with football.

But for many passionate fans the historical importance of the neighborhood is unquestionable since on September 1, 1910 the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista was founded in Rua José Paulino.

Currently Rua José Paulino is considered by many as a "fashion generator pole".

Although it is possible to find more popular goods, José Paulino attracts consumers and merchants from various parts of the country and even from abroad, for the more elaborate clothes such as party dresses and even brides.

Both wholesale and retail stores are found as well as excellent retailer opportunities.

Among all those who visit Rua José Paulino one point is not discussed: it is possible to find articles of excellent quality with prices lower than those practiced in the big malls, mainly when compared to famous brands.

Stay at Hotel Castelar, be close to José Paulino Street and do not miss this one that is considered one of the largest poles that generate fashion in Brazil.
