Brazil Grand Prix Formula 1
A little bit of history
The history of Formula 1 begins with the Grand Prix competitions played in Europe in the early twentieth century.
In the early days the colors of the cars were: green for English teams, red for Italy, blue for French and white for German.
The first edition of the Formula 1 GP Brazil took place in 1792. Since 1973 this race has been part of the Formula 1 calendar. With the exception of the years 1978 and 1981 to 1989 (when the races were held at the Jacarepaguá race track), the races take place annually in the Autódromo of Interlagos whose official name is Autodrome Jose Carlos Pace.
As with the Circuits of Marina Bay, Circuit of the Americas and Yas Marina Circuit, the Brazilian GP is one of the few in the current Formula One calendar that has counter-clockwise direction.
In 2013, as had already happened in 2006, the Brazilian Grand Prix was chosen by the FIA as the best of the season.
