Julio Prestes Cultural Center
The Julio Prestes Cultural Center, which is located in the former Julio Prestes Station, was inaugurated on July 9, 1999. The building was completely restored and refurbished by the State Government as part of the revitalization of downtown. Next door is the Pinacoteca Station with art exhibitions.
Sala São Paulo
The Sala São Paulo has a capacity of 1,498 seats and is the home of the São Paulo State Symphonic Orchestra (OSESP). It is also venue for symphonic and chamber presentations and has been designed according to the most updated international standards.
Many experts consider the Sala São Paulo one of the concert hall with the best acoustics in the world, comparable to many rooms in the United States or Europe, worldwide known as the Boston Symphony Hall, the Musikverein in Vienna and the Concertgebouw, in Amsterdam.
